This is a large, very nicely made, heavy 1937 shooting prize / plaque given to a member of the Lerchenfelder Jagd Klub St. Hubertus (a Hunting Club founded in 1923 in Vienna), who won first prize in 1937. St. Hubertus is the patron saint of hunters.
The gold plated metal medallions and oak leaves are all separate parts, and the inscription is engraved into the octagonal piece of metal.
It measures 4-¾ inches tall by just over 3-½ inches wide and weighs almost 7 oz or about 190 grams, and was produced by a local firm, Ladaska on the Burggasse in central Vienna. We have not polished it, or cleaned it up since we acquired it decades ago so the 85 year old piece has nice, genuine patina.
The perfect accompaniment to any period German or Austrian hunting weapon, a hunting license, forester’s gear, etc.
This heavy 1937 shooting - hunting award plaque is offered for sale
for $75.00 delivered by Economy Mail in the continental USA.
