This is an unused Standard Oil 1938 Kraftfahrer-Taschenbuch, an almanac-style pocket book or glovebox book for motorists printed in December 1937 by the Deutsch-Amerikanische Petroleum Gesellschaft, DAPAG or German-American Gasoline Company, the German name for Standard Oil Company in Nazi Germany. The 4-1/8 x 7-1/8 inch, 64 page heavily illustrated booklet has service tips for cars, what to do in case of car trouble or accidents, driving tips, buying gas with Standard Oil or Esso vouchers, driving on the Reichsautobahn, civilian and military license plate abbreviations, country letter codes, distances between German cities, first aid tips, and traffic rules and regulations.
There are also 'calendar' pages where motorists could fill in details about gas and oil purchases, costs, mileage and other trips related details as well as an interesting page with Standard Oil / Deutsch-Amerikanische Petroleum Gesellschaft company information (shown right). Standard was a huge organization in Germany during the Nazi era unbeknownst to nearly everyone in the 21st century.

This Standard Oil 1938 Kraftfahrer-Taschenbuch was never used and is in very nice condition.
