HISTORIC ORIGINAL THIRD REICH & WORLD WAR II PRESS PHOTOS
|
This USMBOOKS web page contains historic original press photographs from the time before electronic files. News photos were sent by mail to newspaper and magazine publishers with a description of the subject matter on a piece of paper usually attached to the photo or glued on to the back of the photo. They were also usually imprinted with the name of the photo agency that sent them such as ACME Newspictures, Associated Press, International News Photos, etc. In some cases photos were sent by wire photo, a system somewhat like scanning, and printed out on glossy photo paper by the recipient newspaper or magazine.
