The picturesque town of Bingen is described as the “Cheerful Wine City of the Sunny Rhine River” and has color and black & white pictures of the steep vineyards, people harvesting grapes, flower gardens, castle ruins and several views of ships on the river Rhein. Note above that the ship on the cover panel is flying a Nazi swastika flag!
The 8-panel brochures measures 4 x 8-¼ inches and folds out to 8-¼ x 23 inches! It was printed by the tourist office or Landesfremdenverkehrsverband Rhein-Main and is dated 1938.
The 4 x 8-3/8 inch fold-out brochure of Beethoven’s birthplace Bonn on the Rhine was published by the city’s tourist office. The eight panels (15-¾ inches long) contain information on sights to see, suggested walking tours, bus tour possibilities, and a nice map. It comes with an 8-page 1938 hotel guide supplement (shown right) featuring everything from large, fancy hotels to small pensions and even private rooms. In true German fashion it includes clearly spelled out rules and regulations (Deutsche Hotelordnung).
All three 84 year old Nazi tourist brochures are complete and in nice used condition. No odor.
