This striking Ehren-Urkunde or Honor Certificate was given to First Prize winner in the Schwergewicht or Heavy Weight class of the Rings gymnastics Gau Meisterschaften or NSDAP District Championship. The sport event took place in the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein on 28 and 29 August 1937.

The winner Abel Micharl was a member of the Turn- und Sportgemeinschaft (TSG) 1861 eV at Ludwigshafen am Rhein which still exists today under the name TFC Ludwigshafen.

This 9-3/8 x 12-1/2 inch (24 x 32 cm) cardstock Ehren-Urkunde has beautiful gold embossed oak leaf decoration around the illustration and text. Note the logo of the DRL (Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen or German Gymnastics Association ) on the shirt of the athlete and the DRL flag next to the Nazi swastika flag in the background.

At the bottom it has the names of the leadership of the competition, Gauführer Heckmann, Gausportwart Hubeler and the leader of the athletic department, Weber.
