One of the rarest books in the series of 30 or so Heinrich Hoffmann photo books produced during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler, this 96-page, 7-5/8 x 10-1/2 inch, softcover book is called Hitler in Italien (Hitler in Italy). The foreword was written by Reichspressechef Dr. Otto Dietrich.

With more than 125 spectacular full-page and half-page photos, the book follows the trip Adolf Hitler made in 1938 to Fascist Italy to visit Il Duce, Benito Mussolini. Mussolini had prepared well for the visit of the Führer and he was the toast not only of the cities of Rome, Florence and Napels but also of the country. Rome was decked out in splendor from an earlier age in Italy and the Italian army and Italian paramilitary organizations were paraded incessantly.

There were eagles and swastikas and swastika banners everywhere. The navy exercised off the island of Capri and Hitler, Mussolini, Count Galeazzo Ciano and Italian King Victor Emmanuel appeared together everywhere.
Hitler in Florence
This rare 84 year old soft cover edition of Hitler in Italien is complete and in very good condition with a tight spine and no offensive odor.  Inside the front cover is a full-page portrait of Hitler and Mussolini with the caption Garanten des Friedens or Guarantors of Peace.
