Das Antlitz des Führers contains 16 of the most dramatic Hitler portraits that Heinrich Hoffmann could select, each identified by the year it was taken and with a caption that explains the circumstances of the portrait: Hitler before being elected Reichskanzler, Hitler in an airplane while on the campaign trail, Hitler at the Nazi Party Days in Nuremberg, after his triumphant return to his homeland Austria, Hitler during Nazi parades and and adressing the Reichstag, in uniform and civilian clothes.
This original hardcover example of the Heinrich Hoffmann photo book Das Antlitz des Führers has swastikas on each corner of the front cover. The date 5 December 1942 is written on the front fly leaf in red ink.
A previous owner put a label the title of the 1939 book on the spine and taped over it. The lower spine has some damage, but the content is in very good condition. Tight spine, no unpleasant odor.
