This is an excellent, near-new example of the very best single-volume dictionary produced in Nazi Germany as far as the interests of militaria collectors in concerned. This 5-½ x 8-½ inch hardcover Taschen-Brockhaus zum Zeitgeschehen has 284 pages and an additional 24 glossier pages of photos and illustrations.
LEADING NAZIS IN 1940
Like most of the other Brockhaus dictionaries this is very well illustrated (900 illustrations and 38 maps!) and cross referenced to cover all the subjects that could be classified in the current events category in Nazi Germany in 1940. That means all those subjects that appeared in newspapers, magazines, books and press photos in the first year that Germany was at war.

This 1940 Taschen-Brockhaus zum Zeitgeschehen is complete with the frequently missing fold-out color map of Europe. It measures 25 x 19-1/2 inch and looks like it was never unfolded since the 1940s!

This 83 year old almanac-style illustrated Nazi dictionary is in very nice condition with a tight spine and no odor.
