Die Jüngsten der Luftwaffe (The Youngest Members of the Air Force) by Dr.Ing.Erwin Krause was produced for Hitler Youth students at Flieger-Technische Hochschulen, technical schools specializing in aviation in Nazi Germany. It was published by Dr. M. Matthiesen & Co. of Berlin in connection with a 17 minute UFA documentary of the same title in 1939. This is a 1941 edition.
This 7-1/4 x 9-1/2 inch, 122 page softcover Hitler Youth aviation photo book Die Jüngsten der Luftwaffe is in very nice used condition, with a tight spine and no odor. The 82 year old orginal dust jacket shows wear which is clearly visible in the picture near the top of this USMBOOKS web page.
The foreword by Generalmajor Otto Mooyer (shown in the photo directly above), the first Commander of Nazi Flieger-Technische Hochschulen, contains references to the recent Nazi invasion of Poland and the important role the Luftwaffe played in the victory. Generalmajor Mooyer also mentions the technical improvements in the Luftwaffe the last few years and the need for new blood for the Luftwaffe. Not just pilots, but also aviation-savvy and patriotic young German men with great technical knowledge.
Die Jüngsten der Luftwaffe explains the tasks of these aviation oriented Hitler Youth tech schools and their implementation. Photos show members of the Hitler Youth as technical and military students, learning how to build engines, working on Nazi airplanes in the field, the Junkers training facility in Dessau, the Flieger-Technische Hochschule in Oranienburg and Friedrichshafen (student living and eating quarters, sport facilities and school rooms), learning how to shoot, Hitler Youth boys learning to fly sailplanes in Bavaria, etc.
Other photos include Adolf Hitler, Generalleutnant Ernst Udet, Field Marshal and Nazi Aviation Minister Hermann Goering, Generalmajor Mooyer, young Hitler Youth boys visiting the Nazi Honor Temples in Munich (shown right), Hitlerjugend hiking and camping, playing music, etc.
