This is a very nice example of the 5-1/2 x 7-1/4 inch, booklet Reisen Sie mit uns nach Paris (Travel with us to Paris) as published by the Französisch-Österreichisches Reisebüro early in 1937 to provide transportation information in the German language for Viennese people interested in traveling to the International Exhibition in Paris that year.
Students of the Third Reich period will recognize and recall that the Paris International Exhibition (
Exposition Internationale Paris 1937), dedicated to "Art and Technology in Modern Life", was one of the earliest international venues for the display of Nazi and Adolf Hitler's success in Germany.
The German Pavilion across the Seine river from the Eiffel Tower (shown left in a period postcard) was a triumphal Albert Speer design capped by an enormous eagle and swastika that housed amazing German artistic and industrial triumphs and was visited by tens of thousands of foreigners.
The booklet explains documentation needed by Austrians traveling to Paris, France and the many transportation options available to them. A rare piece of German language International Exhibition material from 1937.
The glossy deckel edge photographic postcard offered for sale here measures 4-1/8 x 5-7/8 inches and was produced especially for visitors to the 1937 International Exhibition in Paris, France in 1937. It shows the Professor Albert Speer designed German Pavilion with the Nazi enormous eagle and swastika on top. The postcard is unused and has a blank back.
